Common Questions
  Is It Secure?
  It Must Be Expensive

MOBILE WORKERS

Mobile workers present a particular risk to security. Ideally, they would like full access to company systems from any location. This might include access from a system that is totally outside your control, such as a PC in a cyber café on the other side of the world. Even if their access is restricted to the use of a laptop, they pose a greater risk than a fixed office connection because of the greater likelihood of a laptop being stolen.

Yet it is often mobile workers who will benefit the most from remote access. There are solutions that provide the greater level of security that is often appropriate in a mobile environment. These are based on a variety of hardware authentication techniques and can provide protection even in the case where a third party may be capturing the keystrokes of the remote user.

In deciding what solution is appropriate for mobile workers, you should balance risk with cost of reducing that risk and the benefits of providing full remote access. While Protronics cannot take that decision for you, we can offer pragmatic advice that will help you to do so.
